Obituary of Henry Joseph Brezinski

Henry Brezinski (95) died peacefully from natural causes on Jan 7, 2021. He was born in Lebanon, N.H. on November 3, 1925. He was predeceased by his five brothers, two sisters, and his wife of thirty-seven years Maxine Brezinski. He is survived by his two sons Bruce and Stephen, grandchildren Carolyn and Michael, great grandchildren Jacob and Maxine, and his loving wife Frances Putzig Brezinski. He also took much pride in acting as grandfather and great grandfather to twenty grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren on the Putzig family side. He was loved and respected by all.

Henry grew up in Lebanon and was a proud graduate of Dartmouth College with a Masters from U.V.M. He spent his entire career in education. Arlington, Vt. was his first stop as a social studies teacher, baseball coach, and basketball coach. From there he moved to Salem N.Y. teaching social studies and supervising summer recreation programs. His last stop was Berne- Knox-Westerlo where he served as principal and then superintendent for sixteen years until re- tirement. He truly loved the hill town residents and decided to never leave the area.

Henry genuinely loved and cared for students, faculty, and staff. He had a reputation for be- ing extremely fair-minded. He was a man of great integrity, always believing in equality and hearing all sides of the story before making a judgement. One of Henry’s life’s guidelines was everyone was to be treated fairly and appropriately according to the circumstances and in a timely manner.

Henry was known for his kindness and sense of humor. He had a way of teasing in a very loving manner. He especially enjoyed ribbing his two daughters-in-law Donna and Janet and of course his wife Frances. Henry lived a very full and happy life and wishes happiness and love to all his friends and family he leaves behind.
