Like Betty, I too remember the singing and humming (or la de das) while he walked around. The trips to Avalon Beach. The card games! He alway seemed to know the cards everyone had. This amazed me! Love and hug to Aunt Myrtle, Lauren, Mark and Kim.

I have so many memories of Uncle Owen since our families spent so much time together. He was a good family man - he always found something for everyone to do be it going to the firehouse and seeing the fire engines, going to Corning Glass, a winery (I think Hammondsport) where we thought it was so cool to get grape juice .
I lived with the family for a short time when I first got a job in Albany. You could count on hearing "Home on the Range" every morning as he sang in the shower. I can still hear his rendition. There are so many other things that will make me remember him fondly. When I was married and started having children there was always a place for me at their home as a stopping point on my way to my parents. My children were like grandchildren to them and he gave my son a few special Christmas gifts of Hess Truck collectibles.
I'm so glad he does not have to suffer any longer. He will be missed, but not forgotten. R.I.P. Uncle Owen
