Obituary of Earl W. Wagoner
Earl W. Wagoner, 96, of East Berne, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 surrounded by family.
Born in 1922, to William and Clarissa (Miller) Wagoner, Earl led a long and full life. He worked at the Voorheesville Army Depot as a diesel mechanic, the Albany College mail dept., and had a second full time job as a lifelong farmer. Earl enjoyed camping with friends and family, hunting, music and playing the fiddle. He attended the Thompson's Lake Reformed Church, and was involved in many social clubs including hunting, bowling, snowmobiling, the Adirondack Fiddlers Club, the Men's Club of the Thompson's Lake Reformed Church, and square dancing at the Knox Grange and Pat's Ranch.
While calling a square dance, Earl met Florence (Olsmit) Wagoner; they married in 1946 and were blessed with 62 loving years together. They had four children: Dave, Viola, Leila, and Don. They raised their family in a farmhouse on the hill that Earl lived in for 70 years. Earl loved to talk to people, and never missed a party, picnic or gathering, even if it meant getting all the work done first. Earl taught us how important it is to work hard, but also to spend as much time with family and friends as you can in this life. He lived life with a passion, and on his terms. He will be deeply missed by many, but his spirit lives on in his large and ever-growing family.
He is survived by a brother, 3 children, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Children: Dave (Patty) Wagoner, Leila (Raymond) Gardineer, Don (Annie Moak) Wagoner. Grandchildren: David Jr (Jennifer), Jon (Dominica), Charles (Nichole), Michelle, Julie (Steve), Lynnea, Adam (Alicia), Nicole (Chuck), Don Jr. (Katelyn). Great grandchildren: Owen, Savannah, Alivia, Casey, Austin, Elizabeth, James, Aaron, Megan, Brianna, Evie, Mason, Noah. Great great grandchildren: Paisley and Colton. Brother: Orlo (Sheila) Wagoner and sister-in law Alice Wagoner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
