Obituary of Emma D. Stevens
Knox- Emma Bunzey Stevens, 105, died on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in West Berne, NY on February 11, 1912, the daughter of the late Ford and Ethel Conklin Bunzey. She was one of ten children. Emma graduated in 1929 from what is now known as SUNY Cobleskill. She worked for the family business, Raymond L. Stevens Trucking for 43 years as the Bookkeeper. She was the Attendance Supervisor at Berne- Knox Central School for 15 years.
She married her husband Raymond on July 24, 1932. He passed away on December 31, 1977. She is also predeceased by her son, Richard (1962), her daughter Diane Shafer (2006) and son -in-law William Horton (2012).
She is survived by her children Shirley (Glen) Willsie, David (Charlene) Stevens, Margaret (William "Wayne") LaGrange, Dawn (Ken) Coffey, Patricia Wigger, Tom (Deb) Stevens, Ruth Horton and Mike (JoAnn) Stevens; seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 9AM to 11 AM at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont. A funeral service will follow at 12Noon at the Knox Reformed Church, Knox. Interment at Knox Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emma's memory to the Knox Reformed Church, 1943 Berne-Altamont Rd, Altamont, NY 12009.
