Obituary of Audrey Stalker

Audrey Stewart Stalker, 92, died peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospice on October 22, 2021. Born April 11, 1929, she lived in the same house in Berne for 71 years.  Audrey worked from home transcribing for an orthopedic doctor and a court reporter.

She and her husband were active crafters and sold their goods at craft fairs.  She loved to knit, crochet and sew.  She donated homemade stuffed animals to Doctors Without Borders and crocheted lap robes for nursing homes and the VA Hospital.  She loved to learn and was an avid reader and when her eyesight was failing, turned to audio books.  She loved history and trivia and her favorite TV show was Jeopardy.  Every day she would watch the show and challenge herself and be amazed about how much she knew.

She is survived by her children Pamela (Richard) Murdock, Wayne Stalker, Brian (Debora) Stalker, Penelope (Theodore) Heim, Adam (Diane) Stalker; grandchildren Jessica and Daniel Murdock, Amanda (Brandon) Quick, David (Kristen) Stalker, Garrett (Nicole), Jennifer and Brandon Heim, Colton Stalker.  Great grandchildren Shea Stalker (David), Braydon & Zachary Quick, Emerson and Avery Heim.  All service were held privately.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donation to St. Peter’s Hospice would be appreciated.
