Obituary of Jean M. Wright

Jean M. Wright, a retired Kindergarten teacher of 32 years passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 82. Jean was born on February 7, 1939 with a twin sister, Janet (Salzer) to Raymond and Alberta Wright.  They joined their older sister Ruth Elaine (DeWitt).

Jean is survived by her family, Stacey Wright, David and Holly Clark, Susan and Kevin Pyne and their children, David and Carolyn DeWitt and their children, and Jon and Angie DeWitt and their children and many cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents, sisters and nephew Jon DeWitt.

Jean loved teaching children, and she loved music.  She was a life- long member of the Lutheran Church in Berne where she loved singing and being a member of the bell choir.  Jean was a member of the Eastern Star where she held many leadership positions.  She was also a member of the Hilltown’s Senior Citizens.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 12:30pm - 2:00pm at Helderberg Evangelical Lutheran Church. An Eastern Star service at 1:45pm and a funeral service will follow at 2:00pm.  Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne.
