Obituary of Gretchen Kunkel Feussner

Gretchen Marie Kunkel Feussner passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 after a long illness, at her sister's home in Altamont, New York, with her family by her side.

Gretchen was born in Rome, New York on August 17, 1947 to the late Lambert and Katherine Narrow Kunkel.  She attended the Academy of Holy Names, and Rome City Schools, graduating in 1965 from Rome Free Academy.  She graduated from Trinity College in Burlington, Vermont and received her Masters degree at Syracuse University.  She worked as a neuro-pharmacologist for the National Institutes of Health and then for the Drug Enforcement Agency in Virginia, retiring in 2007.

After her retirement Gretchen moved back to New York State to her parents' summer home on Sandy Pond near Pulaski, New York where she spent many happy years.

Gretchen is survived by her daughter, Krista Poole, of Raleigh, North Carolina.  She is also survived by her siblings Joseph (Mary Helen) Kunkel and David (Barbara) Kunkel of Guilderland, New York, Michael (Marie-France) Kunkel of Rome, New York, Peter (Mary Beth) Kunkel of Janesville, Wisconsin, Jacqueline (Clayton) Ash of Altamont, New York, and Kristine (Eric) Schrepel of Hudson, Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.
