Obituary of Shirley M. Harrington

Altamont- Shirley M. Harrington, 83 years old died suddenly at home surrounded by family on February 18, 2018. Shirley was born in Albany, NY on October 2, 1934 to Joseph P. and Emily (Wend) Merriman. She graduated from Vicentian Institute in Albany NY. Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband James D. Harrington Sr. Survivors include her 5 devoted children: James D. Harrington Jr. (Lynda) of Delanson, NY; Jeffrey J. Harrington of Guilderland, NY; Ellen H. Fisher (Kirk) of Guilderland, NY; Eric S. Harrington of Altamont, NY; and Greg S. Harrington (Patti) of Glenmont, NY. 2 dear sisters: Dolores Agneta of Albany, NY and Connie Merriman of Latham, NY. 9 beautiful grandchildren: Jessica Harrington (Marc Ammann); Rachel H. Page (Brian); Daniel Harrington (Corinne); Sean Harrington; Alex Fisher; Chloe Fisher; Kristin Harrington; Zachary Harrington; and Katie Harrington 1 adored great granddaughter: Norah Jane Harrington She is also survived by several caring nieces, nephews, and cousins. Shirley devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. After her children were grown, Shirley worked at New York State Tax and Finance before retiring in 1995. Funeral Services will be held Thursday February 22, 2018 at 10:00am at Fredendall Funeral Home 199 Main Street, Altamont, NY. Burial will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY. Friends may call on Wednesday February 21, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Fredendall Funeral Home.
